Chris Wilcha has directed award-winning advertising campaigns and longer-form documentaries for brands like Canon, Chevy, KIND, Facebook, Air BnB and Apple.For Storytellers, the Apple TV+ launch film, Wilcha teamed up with Emmanuel “Chivo” Lubezki and interviewed iconic filmmakers including Ron Howard, Sofia Coppola and Steven Spielberg about the creative process.

Wilcha won two Emmys and two International Documentary Association Awards for directing the TV adaptation of Ira Glass’s radio show This American Life. The Coen Brothers hired him to direct Another Day, Another Time, a concert documentary featuring music from their film Inside Llewyn Davis. In Knock, Knock, It’s Tig Notaro, Wilcha documented comedian Tig Notaro’s cross-country road trip performing comedy shows in the houses of her fans.

Wilcha’s first film,The Target Shoots First, has become something of a cult classic. Wilcha, just out of college, documented his first job in the music business, just as the early 90s grunge and alternative music gold rush was under way. The film won numerous festival awards and was broadcast on HBO. 

His latest feature documentary Flipside, premiered at Toronto International Film Festival and is produced by Judd Apatow, with Park Pictures. The Washington Post calls the film, "Deceptively profound... Meaningful and, maybe, transformative."
