Bio

A graduate from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts and a founding member of the Brooklyn-based filmmaking collective Waverly Films, Jake A graduate from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts and a founding member of the Brooklyn-based filmmaking collective Waverly Films, Jake Schreier began his career making short films and music videos. Jake signed with Park Pictures in 2006 and appeared on “Best New Directors” lists for Creativity, Shots, Boards, and Shoot magazines. He’s partnered with top agencies like Goodby, Silverstein & Partners, Heat, Mcgarrybowen, and TBWA and has helmed campaigns for clients like Absolut, Comcast, Playstation, EA Sports, Verizon, and Time Warner Cable among many others. Jake has also directed a number of music videos for acts like My Morning Jacket and Francis and the Lights. 
 
In 2012 Jake completed his feature directorial debut, ROBOT & FRANK, produced by Park Pictures, which stars Frank Langella, Susan Sarandon, James Marsden, Liv Tyler, and Peter Sarsgaard. The film premiered at the 2012 Sundance Film Festival, where it won the Alfred P. Sloane prize. His second feature, Paper Towns, based on the John Green novel of the same name, starred Cara Delevinge and Natt Wolff.  
 
In addition to his feature work Jake has also directed a number of TV episodes including Alpha House for Amazon Prime, as well as the Showtime shows Shameless and the Jim Carrey co-created comedy series I’m Dying Up Here. Jake is currently in production on the Michel Gondry created TV show "Kidding" starring Jim Carrey for Showtime. 
 
Jake’s collaborations with Francis and the Lights has resulted in many music videos including, “Friends” featuring Justin Vernon and Kanye West, and “May I have This Dance” featuring Chance the Rapper. Jake later worked with Chance the Rapper on his video for “Same Drugs” which earned a nomination for Best Hip Hop Video at the 2017 MTV Video Music Awards. Jake also recently teamed with Haim for their “Want You Back” video which went on to win the UK Music Video Award for Best POP Video - International.
