CHRIS SARGENT
Born and raised in Toronto, Canada, Chris Sargent began his career as a visual effects supervisor at AXYZ, one of Canada’s premier f/x shops. After working on projects for blue chip companies including Nike, GM, Budweiser, and Microsoft, Chris left visual effects supervising and began directing his own commercials, and immediately made his mark with his haunting spot for the World Wildlife Federation, “Beautiful Day”. He quickly followed up that success with music videos for Death from Above 1979, Billy Talent, and TV on the Radio, among others. His commercial career includes work for the NBA, UNIQLO, NHL, Vaseline, Chevrolet, Nissan, EA Sports, Jaguar, and Lexus. In 2009 Chris won an Emmy Award for his directorial work with the NHL.
Chris is known for his visceral, visually exciting work, and his ability to employ cutting edge visual effects. In 2007 Creativity listed Chris in their “Directors to Watch” issue, and in 2008 he was a finalist at the First Boards Awards.
